Remember when the Lions got smacked around during week one of the season? That monumental smack down that was laid down by the New York Jets? Yeah, we’ve tried to forget about it too. But, there was an interesting note to have come out of that game. After all was said and done, some Jets players said that they knew what plays the Lions were running before the snap.
Well, perhaps the New England Patriots have been reading the same book as the Jets. As you can see in the video below, a member of the Patriots defense yelled “it’s a toss” before the snap. The ball was then snapped, and sure enough, the play call was a toss. Check it out:

Rob Gronkowski and the New England Patriots are playing the Detroit Lions at Ford Field this evening, but according to a report that surfaced today, a trade that almost took place this offseason would have had Gronkowski on the opposite side of tonight’s matchup.
Upon finding out that he might be traded to Detroit, Gronkowski threatened to retire instead of play for Detroit. He went so far as to ignore phone calls from those in the Lions organization, and not make any effort to return calls, as well. Some sources have said that it wasn’t so much about Gronk not wanting to play in Detroit, but more along the lines of not wanting to play anywhere other than with the Patriots.
Gronkowski’s name was apparently mentioned in numerous trade rumors, although no teams made as much progress in trade talks as Detroit. It has been reported that if any of those trades would have gone through, Gronkowski would not have reported to any other teams. He wanted to play in New England, and New England alone.
