WATCH: Spartan fans set fire to the streets following 21-17 upset over Penn State

Michigan State fans set fire to the streets outside the Cedar Village Apartments after the Spartans dominating upset win over Penn State. MSU proved to be far more than Penn State was ready to handle, delivering a 21-17 upset in Happy Valley that no one saw coming.

Twitter user @cj_weiss, a student photojournalist at Michigan State, posted pictures of last night’s civil disturbance.

There hasn’t been a lot to celebrate in East Lansing lately; however, this might be a bit much. Beating a team of Penn State’s caliber is no small feat. Torching piles of furniture and mattresses in the streets to celebrate the mid-season win might, however, be a bit much.

The students and fans gathered around the fires might have some questions to answer in the coming weeks. This is not the first time furniture piles have burned in East Lansing. Michigan State fans set fire to couches following their team’s victory over Ohio State in the 2013 Big Ten title game. Police reviewed pictures and videos before pressing charges related to that incident and will likely do the same here. In the age of social media and instantaneous documentation, this type of behavior is baffling.

Nation, what are your thoughts?  Should the police press charges? What type of disciplinary action should current students face for their involvement?

Watch as the ‘Big House’ disrespects Wisconsin late in fourth quarter of 38-13 win

On Saturday night, Michigan absolutely destroyed Wisconsin 38-13 at the Big House to move to 6-1 on the season.

As you may know, it is a tradition at Wisconsin home football games to play the House of Pain song, “Jump Around” between the third and fourth quarter of every game. In fact, they have now been doing that for 20 years as it began on October 10, 1998, during the Badgers homecoming game against Purdue. When the song comes on, Badgers fans jump up and down to help fire up their team for the final quarter.
