The Detroit Pistons may have trailed the Toronto Raptors 85-66 with 3:13 left in the third quarter, but that did not phase the Pistons one bit. You see, Wednesday's game against the top team in the NBA Eastern Conference (at least record-wise), was personal for the Pistons as they desperately wanted to get a win for their head coach, Dwane Casey.
And that's exactly what they did.

After trailing by 19 late in the third quarter, the Pistons stepped up defensively, holding the Raptors to just 19 points over the final 15:13 as Detroit walked away with a 106-104 win in Toronto.
With the scored tied 104-104 with just 1.2 seconds left and the Pistons inbounding the ball under their own net, Reggie Bullock (who had been 1-for-8 shooting up to that point) set a screen for Blake Griffin and then slipped to the basket.
What happened next is absolute perfection!

As you know, Casey not only coached the Raptors from 2011-2018, but he won NBA Coach of the Year last season after leading Toronto to the No. 1 seed in the East. Unfortunately, for Casey and the Raptors, they were swept by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
With the win, the Pistons are now 7-6 on the season which puts then 0.5 games behind the Philadelphia 76ers for the No. 3 seed in the East.

The Pistons now have a 4-day break before they host the Cleveland Cavaliers (2-12) on Monday, November 19th.

Ever since becoming a Detroit Lions fan all the way back in 1985, I’ve always been an optimist heading into each and every season. Now, don’t get me wrong, though optimistic, I have also been realistic at the same time. There have been many seasons where my football knowledge told me the Lions roster or coaching staff was not good enough to compete, but I always had HOPE. Hope that the team I have supported for so long would finally break through.
That has been no different this season.
Heading into the 2018 campaign, I had hope that new head coach Matt Patricia would light a fire under the asses of the organization and lead the team to their first playoff victory since the 1991 season. Unfortunately, my brain told me that general manager Bob Quinn had not given Patricia a formidable roster to work with and nine games into the season, the Lions are sitting at 3-6.
