In case you have not tuned into college hockey this winter or followed along with our weekly ‘Cawlidge Hawkey’ segments of action in the Mitten, you may not know that the Broncos of Western Michigan rank in the Top 10 nationally.

A big reason for their success this year has been freshman goalie Ben Blacker. The Oakville, Ontario native (half hour southwest of Toronto) is 13-3-1 this year between the pipes, posting a 2.26 goals against average. He was big in their sweep of defending champion North Dakota last weekend at home, including a ridiculous save on North Dakota’s Tucker Poolman.

The video below shows the top 8 plays from college hockey last weekend, presented by the American Sports Network. Blacker’s save earned him the top spot on the list.
