Way Too Early: Michigan favored over Florida in 2017 season opener

This week’s edition of Way Too Early includes something for all the gamblers out there. You can already place bets on the 2017 season opener between the Michigan Wolverines and the Florida Gators.

Yes, that’s right sports fans. Johnny Detroit of is reporting that you can now get action on a game that is almost 10 months away. Michigan is favored by 7.5 points in the matchup as it stands now. So if you’re feeling very confident about Michigan’s team next year (or maybe not) now is the time to place your bets.

For what it’s worth, the odds according to Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook on Michigan winning the National Championship in 2017 are 12/1.

Of course, many things could change with the outcome of National Signing Day for recruits, not to mention injuries and a quarterback competition in Ann Arbor.

The Wolverines finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 10-3. They are also graduating significant talent on the defense and have a rebuild happening on the offensive line. The Gators were 9-4 in 2016 and are coming off a 30-3 drubbing of the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Outback Bowl.
