Wayne Gretzky is without question one of the greatest hockey players of all-time. Not only is Gretzky the all-time goal scoring leader by a wide margin with 894, but he is also the all-time leader in assists by a wide margin with 1,963.
But what if “The Great One” had chosen a different route for his career? What if he decided to play baseball?
On Thursday, Gretzky joined The Dan Patrick Show and revealed that he was a big time Detroit Tigers fan as he grew up. He even had a specific position he wanted to play.
Wayne Gretzky on @dpshow on baseball: "I would have loved to have been the SS for the Detroit Tigers. I grew up such a big Tiger fan."

Had Gretzky gone the baseball route and been drafted by the Tigers, he would have had to beat out Alan Trammell for the starting shortstop position.
Yeah, we are pretty confident that Wayne made the right choice.
