It’s hard to believe, but we’re already into Week 6 of the College Football season. The AP has released their Week 6 College Football Poll, and for the most part we don’t see much change. The top 7 in the poll stay the same, with Florida State hanging on to the #1 spot in the poll. The number of 1st place votes they received has gone down bit by bit each week. After getting 34 1st place votes in Week 5, they only received 27 this week. If the College Football Playoffs started today, we would see 1 team each from the ACC, Pac-12, SEC, and Big 12.
The biggest change in the poll saw Arizona State which was previously #15, drop out of the Top 25. UCLA blew out the Sun Devils on the road on Thursday night, and the Bruins were able to jump into the Top 10 with their performance. They were even able to leapfrog Notre Dame and Michigan State, even though both the Irish and Spartans won on Saturday. New to the Top 25 this week are Missouri and TCU. Dropping out of the Top 25 are Arizona State and South Carolina.
Michigan State comes in at #10 in this weeks poll, after their blow out win over the Wyoming Cowboys on Saturday. The Spartans remain the highest ranking 1-loss team, as well as the highest ranking Big Ten team. Also representing the Big Ten are Wisconsin (#17), Nebraska (#19), and Ohio State (#20). Michigan State and Nebraska meet this coming Saturday in East Lansing in what will be one of the biggest games in the Big Ten this season. That is just one of the games we’re keeping our eyes on this Saturday.
Games to Watch: #19 Nebraska at #10 Michigan St. , #3 Alabama at #11 Mississippi, #4 Oklahoma at #25 TCU, #15 LSU at #5 Auburn, #6 Texas A&M at #12 Mississippi St., #14 Stanford at #9 Notre Dame, Arizona St at #16 USC.
