One of the incredibly popular promotions for the West Michigan Whitecaps is Tiger Fridays. This is an opportunity for Whitecaps fans to see former Tigers in person with the minor league team. This year has an exceptional lineup of Tigers greats taking the field once again. Leading the way is one of the greatest Tigers pitchers of all time, Jack Morris. In the video below, Morris discusses the 1984 run to the World Series title, manager Sparky Anderson, and clubhouse comradery on a World Championship team.

June 2 – Jack Morris
With a career ERA of 3.90 and a total of 254 career wins, Jack Morris certainly counts as a Tigers great. Morris was a part of the 1984 World Championship Detroit team and was also a television analyst for the organization.
June 9 – Nate Robertson
A 2006 World Series veteran, Robertson won 51 games on the mound for the Tigers.
June 23 – Pat Sheridan
Originally from Ann Arbor, Pat Sheridan was a member of the Detroit Tigers during the 1987 AL Central Championship season. Batting .253 with 51 home runs and 257 RBI over his career, Sheridan also attended Eastern Michigan University.
July 14 – Dickie Noles
Relief pitcher Dickie Noles helped the Detroit Tigers during the pennant race in 1987.
July 28 – John Hiller
Hiller compiled a 2.83 ERA and 125 saves during his career. Over the course of his playing career, he never left the Detroit Tigers organization. He had a career high 38 saves in 1974.
August 11 – Eric Munson
Munson’s rookie season as a catcher was in 2000. He came into his own behind the dish in 2003 and 2004 where he played a total of 208 games and his 37 home runs.
August 25 – Chris Shelton
Shelton played first base just before Miguel Cabrera took over in Detroit. His short pro career included three seasons with the Tigers. In 2005, he compiled a stat line of .299 with 18 home runs and 59 RBI.
