The Western Michigan Broncos have found their man to replace P.J. Fleck, who left to fill the vacant coaching job at Minnesota.

Tim Lester, 39, has been hired as head coach of the Broncos. He most recently served as quarterbacks coach at Purdue after having spent two seasons at Syracuse.
The Wheaton, IL native is a former Broncos quarterback, throwing for 11,299 yards and 89 touchdowns between 1996 and 1999. Before his coaching career began, he also played in the XFL, Arena Football League, and Arena League.
He later returned to WMU as quarterbacks coach in 2005. At Purdue this past season, Lester coached David Blough and the Boilermakers, averaging 295 passing yards per game, which ranked 21st in the country.
He’ll be officially introduced at an 11 a.m. news conference on Saturday.
