Will Matthew Stafford play for the Detroit Lions in Week 17? Should Matthew Stafford play for the Detroit Lions in Week 17?
The answer to both of those questions should be, NO.
Not only is Stafford dealing with a trio of injuries but the Lions have been eliminated from playoff contention for quite a while.
But when it comes to Stafford's availability, it is very clear that he is the one calling the shots in 2020.
On Thursday, Lions interim head coach Darrell Bevell was asked if he expected Stafford to play on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings and it is clear that it will be Stafford himself who makes that decision.
“It's going to take a lot to convince me he won't play,” Bevell told the media.
Bevell added that there is nothing that Stafford needs to show him before the game in order to get the start.

Nation, should the Lions be allowing Stafford to decide whether or not he plays?
