Where the Detroit Lions will end up selecting in the 2021 NFL Draft

Heading into Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, the Detroit Lions had a golden opportunity to move to 5-5 on the season, which would have put them square in the playoff picture in the NFC.

Unfortunately, the Lions crapped the bed, like they generally do, losing to the Panthers in embarrassing fashion by a score of 20-0.

So, rather than worrying about the playoffs, it is time to do what we as Lions fans do almost any year around this time and that is shifting our focus to the NFL Draft.

If the 2021 NFL Draft were held today, the Lions would have the No. 11 overall pick.

But the question is, where will they end up selecting by the time the 2020 regular season is completed?

Detroit Lions, NFL Draft

The Lions may currently hold the No. 11 overall selection but as you can see above, they could easily move into the top 4 with little effort at all. And as we know, making little effort is something the Lions are pretty damn good at. In fact, they showed almost no effort at all against the Panthers!

To put things in perspective, the Lions are actually just one game out of the No. 4 spot in the 2021 NFL Draft!

So, if you are hoping for a higher draft pick at this point, it is time to start rooting for the Lions to lose. If you are still holding out hope that they can win 6-straight and squeeze into the playoffs, we will see you next week!

All of that being said, when the dust settles, I expect the Lions will be selecting around No. 6 or so.

What do you think?
