It is not even February 1st yet and there has already been a plethora of speculation as to where Matthew Stafford will be playing in 2021.
According to multiple reports, roughly 1/3 of the league has called the Detroit Lions about acquiring Stafford but not all of those teams will be able to give the Lions what would be considered to be “fair market value” in their eyes.
Though the Lions may be trying to take Stafford’s wishes into account when trading him, you can bet they will take the best deal on the table, even if it means sending Stafford somewhere that would not be his ideal destination.
This brings us to the Washington Football Team.
According to a report from Josina Anderson, Washington is open to dealing more than just a 1st round pick for a formidable veteran quarterback.
My understanding is the Washington Football Team is open to potentially, dealing more than just a 1st-rounder for a formidable veteran QB, depending on if it's the right deal*. The team is currently exploring its options.

Stafford is obviously a “formidable veteran quarterback” and Washington could have the ammo to land him if they want to.
Washington currently holds four picks (No. 19, No. 51, No. 74, and No. 82) in the opening three rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft and if they can give the Lions three of those picks, it could be enough to get a deal done.
If Washington offers No. 19, No. 51, and No. 82, the Lions should take the deal.
Unless another team offers more!
