Even after letting it simmer over time, many people have come to accept and like the new look while others were not so welcome to change.<\/p>\n<p>However, fans of the more traditional look should be more than pleased come Thanksgiving when the Lions welcome in their division rival Minnesota Vikings. Some wondered whether the gray &#8216;Color Rush&#8217; uniforms would make the Thanksgiving Day Game appearance, but those are slated for another game down the road against the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n<p>The only real noticeable difference this time around from previous instances is the face mask being silver rather than black. The Lions removed the black trim as part of their re-branding back in April Albeit a very simple design, these uniforms have often been perceived positively from the Lions faithful.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gty.im\/107382964\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/gty.im\/107382964<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a while since Leo rocked the mid-50&#8217;s look but it&#8217;s not totally out of the ordinary. Detroit last wore these in 2010 on Thanksgiving, a 45-24 loss to the New England Patriots. The Lions wore them for a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Detroit_Lions#Logos_and_uniforms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stretch of four seasons<\/a> from 2001-04 as way of encouraging other teams privileged to play on Turkey Day to wear throwbacks themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The Lions and Vikings hooked up exactly one year ago at Ford Field, with similar division implications. Detroit squeaked by Minnesota <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/game?gameId=400874495\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">16-13<\/a> to improve to 7-4 at the time, before finishing 9-7 overall.
