It sounds like the Detroit Tigers are ready to start spending again and that is exactly what they are going to have to do if they want to land No. 1 ranked free agent, Carlos Correa.

But according to Tony Paul of The Detroit News, the Tigers will do just that. In fact, Paul believes the Tigers will give Correa a 9-year contract that will pay him a whopping $270 million.

Here is what Paul has to say about Correa.

Easily the biggest fish on the market, he’s shooting for the moon, the sun and the stars for his new contract, after turning down a six-year, $120 million offer from the Astros in March. If there’s one problem, it’s that the market is full of high-caliber shortstops, so a team leery about spending $300 million could easily turn its attention elsewhere. Prediction: Tigers, nine years, $270 million.

Nation, would you be happy if the Tigers made this deal or is it too much?
