At times Detroit Tigers first baseman and superstar Miguel Cabrera acts like a dog chasing a butterfly on the field. However, taking a deeper look at his behavior, that’s just how Miggy plays the game.
Part of his happy-go-lucky attitude and chatty demeanor on the field is to interact with the fans. Last night at Comerica Park Cabrera noticed a young fan sitting up close asking for a souvenir. Cabrera noted that he was wearing a Mike Trout jersey and took exception to the kid’s wardrobe choices. What happened next is super cute.

The costume change got Miggy’s attention and earned the kid a souvenir bat, according to MLB.com.
“MLB.com Real-Time Correspondent Mark Pierce caught up with the fan, 8-year-old Griffin Majeski from nearby Lake Orion, Mich., attending the game with his friend, Caden Skelton (who turns nine in a few days) and their parents. Both were born and live in Michigan, play baseball and, “try to emulate their heroes” on the diamond.”
Not only did they receive the bat from Cabrera, the Los Angeles Angels dugout gave the pair of fans six baseballs. What a great night at the ballpark for those young fans. This is a great example of how baseball is often times so much more than a game.
