Michael Fulmer has gained the attention of the Atlanta Braves who showed interest in him before the trade deadline and may continue to pursue him in the off-season using their wealth of minor league prospects. Fulmer is currently on the disabled list with an elbow issue. He is 10-9 with a 3.58 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. It is a nice encore to his AL Rookie of the Year season in 2016.

The 24-year-old has excellent control but is not an overpowering strikeout pitcher with a 6.98 K/9 rate. I think Fulmer is a solid #2 or #3 starter, but I do not see him being an ace of a staff. If the Tigers can pull off a trade for two or three solid prospects, I am all for it.

I think our largest need is in the outfield. I am sure their #1 prospect according to MLB.COM Ronald Acuna is off the table, but they may part with #12 Cristian Pache who may even be batter than Acuna. He is the perfect candidate for CF in the future with everything tool in his game except power. Another player that intrigued me was #14 Travis Demeritte who can play 2B and has some pop in his bat. While he has to improve on his 30% strikeout rate and batting average he could be a nice addition with a little refinement.

Atlanta is overflowing with talent and has been ranked at the top of most lists of top farm systems. While I am leery that Avila will be able to get the value necessary for Fulmer, I think we need to be all ears this off season if the Braves are willing to part with some top names.
