In just a few days Michigan Football will take the field in their first game of the 2017 season. After finishing last season losing three of their final four games Michigan will look to start the season with momentum. Flordia will be an excellent early season test and is bound to tell us a lot about this young team. The game is at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, kick off is set for 3:30 PM.

Among all the exciting things we will have to watch, like some new team captains, news has been reported that Michigan will be wearing all-maize alternative Jerseys, which has since then become official.

The all-maize look is to commemorate the university’s bicentennial as well as the 150-year anniversary of the school’s color combination.

Fan replica uniforms of the all-maize look have already hit the racks in stores.

In the Past Michigan athletic director, Warde Manuel had recently left the door open for Michigan to wear alternative jerseys.

“We’ll look at what they bring to the table and maybe some ideas that we may have about that, but, for this year we really like the look that they created for the team,”

“Uniforms have nothing to do with the way that we play. I’ve worn uniforms of different sorts, and I’ve had different results — more winning than losing, thankfully. But uniforms don’t make you win or lose.”

Pictures have begun to surface of Michigan practicing today in all-maize jerseys.

The battle of defenses in the game should be quite the spectacle and perhaps the shine of the pure maize jerseys could help blind the Gators defenders. And speaking of Florida, they too will be wearing special alternative uniforms. The two apparel providers for both schools — Jordan Brand (Michigan) and Florida (Nike) — have teamed up.
