To the delight of many Detroit Lions fans, Eric Ebron’s name is coming up in trade talks before Tuesday’s trade deadline.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, “teams have been calling Detroit to potentially trade for him.”

Ebron’s relationship with the Detroit fans has been contentious at best.

From The Detroit Free Press:

“And the fans’ booing? Ebron says it doesn’t affect him.

“Hell, no,” he said with a laugh. “They can … boo all they want to, you know what I’m saying? This is what I get paid to do, this is what I love to do. I’m going to go out there and continue to try to make plays for our offense and, you know, just take this one on the chin and we’ve got to get ready for New Orleans.”

The Lions fans love to pile on Ebron, but he makes it so easy with his critical drops in key points of games this season.

This move has been rumored for some time now.

One potential trade partner could be none other than the Green Bay Packers because of what Martellus Bennett posted on Instagram.

It is doubtful that Detroit Lions GM Bob Quinn would trade inside of his own division though. But, what could the Detroit Lions get for Ebron?

Given Ebron’s struggles this year, and potential big pay raise next season, a trade would not likely net a significant return. Like we’ve seen in Buffalo this season, Quinn could decide to cut bait on a top-10 pick he didn’t choose for any compensation rather than cut him for nothing this offseason.
