Former Spartan Jerel Worthy takes not-so-subtle jab at Mark Dantonio

The Michigan State Spartans suffered another embarrassing defeat on Saturday, losing at the hands of the Wisconsin Badgers by a 38-0 final score.

Another poor offensive showing won't do anything to quiet the criticism of head coach Mark Dantonio, who hasn't made any major changes to his team's offensive staff and also lashed out at a reporter who asked him about it.

The fact that Dantonio has chosen to retain his friends on the offensive staff rather than make the hard choice of replacing them has also drawn the ire of former Spartan All-American Jerel Worthy, who took to Instagram after the loss to voice his thoughts:

“We need to start to look at ourselves as a program n (sic) figure out if long-standing relationships gone (sic) cost these kids a chance at something great. 38-0 to WI is the last straw. Something has to change and it has to change right now! These kids deserve every chance at success not looking mediocre.”

Without mentioning any names, it's pretty clear that the “long standing relationships” he's referring to are those of Dantonio and his assistants. Brad Salem, Dave Warner, Jim Bollman, and Mark Staten are all still with the team despite the last several years of sub-par offensive showings.
