Not so fast Michigan football. Just a few short weeks ago Michigan made a hire that was supposed to help fix some of their major issues on offense. The man who was hired to fix the offense was Dan Enos, the former Arkansas offensive coordinator. However, in a strange turn of events, it is right back to square one for the Wolverines.

To pour salt in the wounds, Enos is headed down south to Alabama. Unfortunately, it is doubtful that Enos was able to help the Michigan offense in any substantial way, as he was here for all of three weeks. He now will have the luxurious problem of choosing between two championship caliber quarterbacks with the Crimson Tide. Michigan, on the other hand, has many more offensive challenging problems than that.

Although Enos’ position at Michigan was not entirely clear he is a proven developer of quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers. It is not too hard to see why Nick Saban came in and took him. Although Dan Enos and Arkansas was only able to put together nine points against Saban and Alabama this year, Saban has hired him as an associate head coach and quarterbacks coach.

Michigan now needs to go find a coach or two that can actually develop talent and manage an offense. By now it is no secret that the offense was brutal last year and something needs to be done about that. Michigan has yet to fire either co-offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton or Tim Drevno, and it is unclear if they intend to. Losing Enos is not ideal but a lot can still be done to help get this raw Michigan offense to match its elite defense.
