The Detroit Pistons just enjoyed themselves a great week of basketball. After losing to the Cavs on Sunday Stan Van Gundy decided it was time for a drastic change. So the Pistons traded for super-star Blake Griffin and suddenly the frustratingly mediocre Pistons luck began to change. Of all the Pistons, Andre Drummond has seen the most in return.

After adding Blake Griffin in a trade, being named an All-Star, and then beating LeBron James and the Cavs on national television, Andre was right, “it’s been a helluva 24 hours”. Fortunately, the Pistons All-Star center was not done yet. As he set the tone for the Pistons to go on a much needed three-game win streak by averaging 19 points, 19 rebounds, and three steals.

The tremendous week led to him being named the week 16 Eastern Conference player of the week.

The Pistons appear to have found new life throughout the last week in much thanks to Andre Drummond and his new frontcourt mate, Blake Griffin. Andre accomplished a lot this week including matching one of the greatest big man of all time. In a game against the Miami Heat Andre Drummond did something that no one since Hakeem Olajuwon has done. That is having 20 points 20 rebounds four blocks and four steals in a game.

Andre Drummond will look to continue his great play and team success as the team tries to squeak back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores made a rare appearance at a game of the team that he owns, but his presence was appropriate considering the franchise altering trade his team just completed for five-time All Star Blake Griffin.

On the sidelines, let’s just say that Gores looked like he’d been raising several glasses to toast the new look team.
