Devin Bush’s fearless and aggressive play this year put him in the conversation for the Dick Butkus award as the best linebacker in the nation. All year long Devin Bush has been flying around instilling fear in opponent’s offenses by making big play after big play.

As the leading tackler on Michigan’s defense Devin Bush makes his presence known against all his opponents, with his speed and strength. Bush’s style of play puts him in some controversial positions. Last year against Iowa he was ejected on a targeting call.

Then Bush started his incredible sophomore year by nearly getting ejected on the very first play of the season against Florida this year.

Neither of these plays has Devin Bush scared to hit and he made that very clear when asked about the size and strength of Ohio State’s quarterback J.T. Barrett.

“I wouldn’t adjust my game,” Bush said. “He can be big all he wants – he’s still a quarterback at heart. He’s gonna play like a quarterback. A lot of quarterbacks do not want to get hit. So you put a hat on him, and he’s gonna think twice about putting his head down and running.”

J.T. Barrett was a Heisman candidate after his Penn State performance but has shown weaknesses since. Devin Bush does not picture J.T. Barrett as untouchable and that is good news for Michigan. That’s the type of attitude that Harbaugh should want his whole team to approach this game with. They are underdogs and need to embrace that. Look for Bush to try to set the tone by doing what he has been doing all season long. Hitting the quarterback and running like a wild man.
