Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions are parting ways with the Lions reportedly preparing to accept trade offers during the upcoming week.
But, what can the Lions expect to get in return for Stafford, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft?
Well, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Lions can expect at least a first-round pick in return for Stafford.
With new general manager Brad Holmes and new head coach Dan Campbell now in place, the Lions will soon begin trade discussions that most likely will result in a new quarterback — largely influenced by what and who the Lions will receive in a trade for Stafford, sources told ESPN.
The Lions are expected to receive at least a first-round pick, league sources said.
Nation, what should be the minimal return for Stafford?
DeShawn Watson and a second rounder.
In my opinion I think the Lions should get 2 – 1sts and a 3rd. Stafford is under team control for 2 years with a team friendly contract. He also should have at least 5 more good years if not more and he is durable.
