Detroit Lions’ Matt Patricia comments on if more coaches will be fired

Garbage.

That is the best way to describe the product the Detroit Lions have put out on the field for the past three weeks. During that time, the team has gone from 3-3 with a chance to cement themselves in the NFC North divisional race, to losing three-straight games to drop to 3-6 and completely out of playoff contention.

Last week, the Lions were annihilated by the Minnesota Vikings and in response, head coach Matt Patricia announced the fall guy would be special teams coach Joe Marciano.

On Monday, Patricia addressed the media and he was asked if any more coaches would be fired.

From Lions Lowdown:

“It was what it was, we’re just pushing forward this week, we’re just on schedule, grinding away. We’re not doing anything right now.’’ Patricia said.

WIth Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense struggling to put points on the board, the popular opinion around town is that offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter be relieved of his duties.

Unfortunately, it looks like that will have to wait AT LEAST one more week.

“As the first African-American to be drafted and to play in the National Football League, Wally is one of the true trailblazers in American sports history. He resides among the great men who helped reshape the game as they faced the challenges of segregation and discrimination.

“His contributions date back to his days at Penn State as the Nittany Lions’ first African-American starter and varsity letter-winner, highlighted by his appearance in the first integrated Cotton Bowl.
