Detroit Pistons C Nerlens Noel and G Alec Burks get jersey numbers

During the 2022 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons acquired Jalen Duren, who was originally selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 13 pick, and Kemba Walker from the New York Knicks.

A week after the conclusion of the draft, the Pistons and Knicks made another trade that sent C Nerlens Noel, G Alec Burks Detroit’s own second-round pick in 2023, the Heat’s second-round pick in 2024, AND $6 million in cash to the Pistons.

In exchange, the Knicks got absolutely nothing except for salary cap space.

By taking on Noel and Burks, the Pistons took themselves out of the running for any free agents looking for a max contract.
