Detroit Lions center Frank Ragnow suffered a fractured throat during last weekend’s setback against the Green Bay Packers, and his status for this weekend remained in doubt.
After consulting with specialists this week, the Lions have officially downgraded his status as OUT for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

“They’re having him rest his voice, won’t be speaking really here,” interim head coach Darrell Bevell said yesterday. “Yesterday, no words spoken. Today, no words spoken. He’s not supposed to talk through Friday, and then they’ll reevaluate it on Friday toward the end of the week.”
Ragnow suffered the injury in the 1st quarter against the Packers, though he was able to complete the game. He’s been communicating mostly through hand gestures and nods, as well as written communication.
