As the Dodgers and Astros were kicking off Game 7 of this year’s World Series, the Detroit Tigers had an announcement of their own. Today new manager, Ron Gardenhire, named Steve Liddle as his bench coach.
Liddle spent time with Gardenhire in Minnesota, serving as both third base coach and his bench coach.
Steve Liddle is joining the Tigers coaching staff as the bench coach, I’m told.

This announcement comes on the heels of the Tigers announcing the hitting coach Lloyd McClendon and third base coach Dave Clark would be returning.
Also, Lloyd McClendon will return to the Tigers coaching staff as hitting coach and Dave Clark as third base coach.
