This weeks episode of Section 313 deals with the trade deadline, Justin Verlander, Michael Fulmer’s comments about rebuilding, and Brad Ausmus.
(0:00-13:40): Justin Verlander and the trade deadline have been a rumored couple for months at this point. There is no secret that Tigers are trying to move their long time ace in order to get out from under his contract. We’ll discuss the legacy of Justin Verlander and how and if he will be traded.
(13:45-19:54): Michael Fulmer made some comments this week about the rebuild and my thoughts on it are in full support of our 24-year-old sophomore phenom. No athlete competes to lose, they all want to win. Fulmer’s comments are those of a winner, who wants to win in Detroit.
(19:55-24:31): What are the realistic chances that Brad Ausmus comes back next season? I’d say 50/50. There has been much talk about Al Avila‘s support for the Tigers manager. It will be interesting to see what happens when the season ends, as a departure before the end of the season seems unlikely.
(24:32-28-34): The first ever WTF moment of the week! Check out what made us scratch our heads this week and just think “what the #$%&” throughout baseball. It’s a good one!
We’ll be coming to you before each series for the rest of the year, so be on the lookout for the next Section 313 podcast on Monday. That will be followed on Friday and so forth the rest of the season. Have a great weekend, enjoy watching the AL leading Houston Astros in Comerica Park, and as always, Go Tigers.
