Coming off of a tough loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Detroit Lions are preparing to take on another NFC South foe, the New Orleans Saints. One thing Lions fans will be happy to see is that franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford was listed as a full participant in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. Two other key players who were able to fully participate in practice on Thursday was safety Glover Quinn and linebacker Tahir Whitehead. Getting both those guys back onto the field and fully preparing to play the Saints on Sunday is a huge win for the Lions’ defense. The only two players who did not participants in practice were tackle Greg Robinson and linebacker Paul Worrilow.

After the beating that Stafford took in last week’s game against Carolina, it is great to see him practicing fully. If he were unable to go this Sunday and second-year back up Jake Rudock had to start, the chances of the Lions coming out of the bayou with a win would be unlikely. Thankfully he is practicing and prepping for the Saints because Stafford at 75-80% is better than not having him on the field at all.
