Ben Roethlisberger may not return to Steelers in 2017

There is little question about it, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and has been for some time now. There is also little question that playing in the NFL can take its toll, even on the strongest of players.

Roethlisberger has taken a beating throughout his career but is came as a surprise to many when he told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh that he is considering all options for the 2017 season.

From CBS Pittsburgh:

“I’m going to take this offseason to evaluate, to consider all options,” Ben told us. “To consider health, and family and things like that and just kind of take some time away to evaluate next season, if there’s going to be a next season.”

When asked if he’s going to play next year, Ben simply said, “I’m going to take some time and evaluate with my family and just do a lot of praying about it and make sure it’s the right thing for me and my family.”
