Just a few days ago, the Lions agreed to a 1-year deal with Asiata, who formerly played for the Minnesota Vikings.
Burton was drafted by the Lions in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft. During his time in Detroit, the fullback played in a total of 31 games. In those games, Burton had a total of two rushing yards to go along with 39 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The move by Lions GM Bob Quinn hints that the Lions are content on continuing to roll with a single back set.
