This coming Sunday, the Detroit Lions will look to pick up their first win of the 2021 season when they host the Baltimore Ravens at Ford Field.
The Ravens, as you know, feature one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in NFL history in Lamar Jackson and he is sure to be a huge challenge for a Lions’ defense that has been awful through the first two games of the season.
Each week, as the Lions prepare for their upcoming matchup, there is a scout offense that simulates the offense the other team will run.
So, who will be charged with being the ‘Lamar Jackson’ of the scout team?
On Wednesday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell joined the Stoney & Jansen with Heather show on 97.1 the Ticket and he revealed that backup quarterback David Blough will do his best to be Lamar Jackson this week during practice.
Campbell noted that mimicking what Jackson does will be extremely difficult (more like impossible, Dan) and that until the actual game begins and the Lions’ defense can see him at full speed, they really will not have a great feel.
Folks, David Blough may be a pretty good magician but this trick will be tough to pull off.
