Tonight, when you take the mound tonight against the Los Angeles Dodgers, you will be doing so with a golden opportunity to win the 2017 World Series. Though you will be donning a jersey that still looks a little bit “off” to those of us who followed you throughout your career with the Detroit Tigers, we support you 100% tonight.
You have worked extremely hard throughout your tremendous career and winning a World Series title is something you deserve, even if it is not with the Tigers.
So, as you walk out onto the field tonight and take your warm-up pitches before the biggest start of your career, take a second to close your eyes for a moment and visualize a jam-packed Comerica Park. Imagine the fans of Detroit screaming at the top of their lungs in support for YOU.
Though there probably will not be many Tiger fans in attendance tonight in L.A., I can assure you of one thing.
