Detroit Lions make pair of position changes on team website

As you have probably heard by now, both Jamal Agnew and Jason Cabinda will be playing different positions for the Detroit Lions in 2020.

Agnew, who previously played cornerback, will be a wide receiver (and apparently a running back) for the Lions moving forward while Cabinda, who was previously a linebacker, is now a fullback. Both of these position changes are now listed on the Lions official website.

We knew Agnew was switching to wide receiver but the running back label is news to us.

My guess is that the Lions did this so Agnew could keep his current No. 39. If he was only listed as a WR then he would have to change his number. Though there have been exceptions to this in the past.

Or, maybe Jamal will get some action in the Lions’ backfield!
