According to a report this morning from Ian Rapoport, quarterback Josh McCown is coming out of retirement to sign a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. He will likely be the backup for Eagles starter, Carson Wentz.
The #Eagles are giving new QB Josh McCown a $2M base salary that is fully guaranteed, source said. That’s a strong indication he’s back for the season and their backup to Carson Wentz. Out of retirement and back on a roster.

McCown, who spent the 2006 season with the Detroit Lions, will be entering his 17th season in the league. He most recently played for the New York Jets from 2017-2018.
The Eagles are one of the odds on favorites to represent the NFC this season in the Super Bowl.
