Jim Harbaugh‘s latest flirtation with the NFL is a wrap and on Monday, Harbaugh announced that he will be returning to Michigan for the 2023 season. In fact, it was Michigan President Santa Ono who broke the news with the following statement. “I just got off the phone with Coach Harbaugh and Jim shared with me the great news that he is going to remain as the Head Coach of the Michigan Wolverines. That is fantastic news that I have communicated to our Athletic Director Warde Manuel.”
How did Santa Ono troll Adam Schefter after Jim Harbaugh news?
Following Ono’s statement, Harbaugh himself confirmed the news with the following statement:
“I love the relationships that I have at Michigan – coaches, staff, families, administration, President Santa Ono and especially the players and their families. My heart is at the University of Michigan. I once heard a wise man say, “Don’t try to out-happy, happy.” Go Blue!“
Of course, Adam Schefter of ESPN also tweeted out the news as quickly as he can.
When Ono saw Schefter’s tweet, he decided to have a little fun.
“Unless Oakland is still in play?” Ono tweeted with a winking emoji.
Check it out.
Ono obviously remembers exactly what happened back in Dec. of 2014, when Harbaugh was on a plane flying to Ann Arbor. While Harbaugh was on the plane, Schefter tweeted that the Raiders were still an option and that a deal was not yet in place between Harbaugh and Michigan.
