On Sunday, the Detroit Red Wings fell to the Colorado Avalanche 2-0 but that does not mean there was not much excitement in the game.

With the Red Wings trailing 1-0 in the 3rd period, Patrik Nemeth of the Avalanche checked Dylan Larkin face first into the boards causing the Wings center to go down to the ice.

As you will see in the video below, Red Wings Anthony Mantha came to Larkin’s defense and laid into Nemeth pretty good.

Former Detroit Lions 1st Round pick arrested in Alabama

According to reports, former Detroit Lions defensive lineman Nick Fairley has been arrested in Alabama and charged with menacing.

Former NFL defensive tackle Nick Fairley was booked into Mobile County Metro Jail on Friday afternoon after being charged with two counts of menacing.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office’s jail log, the former Auburn standout entered jail at 4:48 p.m. CST Friday.

Fairley, who was originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, played four seasons in the Motor City. During that time, he played in 46 games (30 starts), recording 98 tackles and 13.5 stats. After leaving the Lions prior to the 2015 campaign, Fairley spent a season with the Rams and then a season with the Saints.
