It would certainly be a rather large adjustment being traded from the defending Stanley Cup champions to a team in the midst of a rebuild and on their way to 31st place in the NHL.
However, for Robby Fabbri, things couldn’t have worked out better. And he’s looking forward to the next chapter not only of his career, but of Detroit Red Wings hockey.
Upon his November 2019 acquisition from the St. Louis Blues, he fit like a glove with his new teammates, particularly with that of former juniors teammate Tyler Bertuzzi. And while Detroit would ultimately finish dead last in the NHL standings, Fabbri saw fit to sign a two-year contract extension to remain part of the rebuilding process.

With 14 goals and 17 assists in 52 games, Fabbri tied for 4th on the team in point totals. And he’s looking forward to helping ensure a season like last year doesn’t happen again.
