The Michigan State Spartans have one game left on their schedule for this season, and that will come at Yankee Stadium in late December against Wake Forrest in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Conversely, it will also be the final game of quarterback Brian Lewerke’s career at Michigan State. So where do they go from here?

While they prep for their Bowl game, the Spartans will be using this time to take a look at some potential future quarterbacks, who include redshirt sophomore Rocky Lombardi, redshirt freshman Theo Day and true freshman Payton Thorne. Three-star Noah Kim will also be joining the team in the 2020 recruiting class.

“We’re going to make sure that we give our younger quarterbacks an opportunity in practice,” coach Mark Dantonio said. “We can’t play four guys in the bowl game but we’re going to make sure that we give them opportunities in practice to get meaningful reps.”

“I think sometimes in bowl practice, or in normal practice, you tend to go 1s and 2s and your 3s and 4s don’t get as many reps,” Dantonio continued. “So, we need to make sure that they have an opportunity to show what they have – meaningful reps, within reason.”
