The Detroit Lions elected not to move cornerback Darius Slay during yesterday's NFL Trade Deadline. And while he's been the subject of speculation as to what his future with the team holds, at least one of his fellow players is hoping that he stays around long term.
Johnathan Cyprien of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tweeted out that he hopes Slay doesn't go the way of former Lions greats Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson, with a not so subtle request for the Lions to pay the man.
I pray lions don’t do another great in @_bigplayslay23 like they did Calvin and Barry. #paytheman #freetheman #random

Will Slay be with the team long term?
