When all was said and done, things did not end well for the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night as they lost a roller coaster of a game 13-11 to the Baltimore Orioles in a 13-inning affair at Comerica Park.

The Orioles put up a seven-spot on Tigers starter Matt Boyd in the top of the third inning to give Baltimore a 7-1 lead.

But the Tigers refused to waive the white towel as they scored three runs of their own in the bottom of the third to cut the O’s lead to 7-4.

That’s when the real dramatics began. In the bottom of the seventh inning, J.D. Martinez, who recently returned from the disabled list, hit a grand slam to put the Tigers back out in front, 8-7.

Check it out.

The blast was J.D.’s second of the night and his fourth of the season. Since returning from the DL, the Tigers right fielder is batting .500 with four home runs and eight RBIs.

Now the only question is, will Tigers manager Brad Ausmus continue to bat J.D. sixth in the lineup, or will he move him up in the order.
