Griffin was a last minute scratch during Saturday's game against Portland due to knee soreness. Griffin warmed up with the team and ultimately decided not to play against the Trail Blazers. This injury is clearly still bothering him, hence why he will miss Monday's game. His next opportunity to return will be on Wednesday, where the Pistons again play the Pacers.

Thon Maker started in Griffin's place on Saturday night, scoring eight points, two assists, and totaling three rebounds. The Pistons would go on to beat the Trailblazers 99-90 in Griffin's absence. Maker will likely start in Griffin's absence once again on Monday.
