BREAKING: Detroit Tigers sign former All-Star pitcher

Baby, it's cold outside but things are heating up for the Detroit Tigers!

Well, maybe it's not that exciting, but on Tuesday, the Tigers agreed to a contract with free agent pitcher, Matt Moore.

Left-hander Matt Moore and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on a one-year deal that guarantees him between $2 million and $3 million, pending a physical, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

According to Jeff Passan, the one year deal is expected to in the range of $2-3 million.

Moore, who has been in the league for eight seasons, has made 149 career starts, posting a record of 54-56 and a 4.56 career ERA. His best season came in 2013 with Tampa Bay when he went 17-4 with a 3.29 ERA. Moore was also selected to the American League All-Star team that season.

Lions offense takes another blow at wide receiver

As if the difficult loss on Thanksgiving Day was not enough, the Lions will now be without wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. for the remainder of the 2018 season as it was announced today that he has been placed on IR.

The original reports from Adam Schefter stated, while Jones Jr. had sustained a knee injury, his ACL and MCL were intact and that it was a bone bruise to be evaluated day-to-day. This latest news points to there being more wrong than initially suspected. Jones ends his 2018 campaign with 35 catches for 508 yards and five touchdowns according to ESPN.com.

The Lions’ offense will now lean on up and coming WR Kenny Golladay as their deep threat and continue to use recent stand-out Bruce Ellington as the slot receiver with Theo Riddick coming out of the backfield until Kerryon Johnson is ready to return.
