College Football Playoff Rankings Show to be delayed

The College Football Playoff Rankings will be delayed because of BASKETBALL!

Since when does college basketball get the upper hand over College Football? Well, that is exactly what is happening on Tuesday night. Starting two weeks ago, the College Football Playoff Rankings show has been starting at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. If you have that time on your calendar for tonight, you are going to have to make an adjustment because, thanks to college basketball, the rankings show will not begin until later on in the night.

When will the College Football Playoff Rankings Show begin?

The Tuesday, Nov. 15 edition of the College Football Playoff Rankings Show will be delayed until around 9:00 p.m. ET.

Why will the show be delayed, you may ask? Well, there are two big basketball games tonight (Champions Classic: Michigan State vs. Kentucky and Kansas vs. Duke) beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET and rather than holding the rankings show at 6:30, ESPN has decided to hold the show following the conclusion of the MSU/Kentucky game and before the Kansas/Duke game.

It's all about money, folks!

Here is the remainder of the schedule for the CFP Rankings Show:

  • 9 p.m ET Tuesday, Nov. 15 (approximate time)
  • 7 p.m. ET Tuesday, Nov. 22
  • 7 p.m. ET Tuesday, Nov. 29
  • Noon ET Sunday, Dec. 4 (Selection Day)
