With Matt Patricia finally being fired, the Detroit Lions now have to decide who they want to roll with as their next head coach.
Plenty of candidates have been mentioned, including San Francisco 49ers DC Robert Saleh and Kansas City Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy but to our knowledge, they have not officially interviewed anyone yet to replace Patricia.
But according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis “may have already talked to the Lions” about becoming their next head coach.
From Detroit Free Press:
On the coaching front, there are not as many names linked directly to the Lions yet, perhaps because the season is not over. Interim head coach Darrell Bevell should have a chance to interview for the full-time job. San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh continues to generate a lot of buzz publicly and likely will be on the Lions’ interview list. Ex-Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis may have already talked to the Lions. And Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith might be on the list, too.
Nation, do you believe that Marvin Lewis is a strong candidate to take over for Matt Patricia as head coach of the Detroit Lions?
It doesn’t matter who the Lions get as head coach as long as the Fords own them. They suck for years and they keep blaming the coaching. IT’S THEM.EVER since they have owned them they have been losers. The can’t make a decent car how can the have a decent team.
