If you are familiar with the work of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, then you are well aware of how he loves to throw in little jabs from time to time while he does his interviews. A couple of weeks ago, following a Monday Night Football win for the Packers, Rodgers was asked a question about the Packers’ chances of making the playoffs, and he took the opportunity to point out that the Detroit Lions were not above .500 on the season.
How did some of the Detroit Lions players react to Aaron Rodgers’ troll job?
A couple of weeks ago, Rodgers was asked what he thought about the Green Bay Packers chances of making the playoffs, knowing that they needed to win out against three opponents who were sitting above .500 on the season. (The Lions were actually .500 exactly at the time and Rodgers pointed that out.)
“Well, one of them’s at .500 right now,” Rodgers said with a smirk.
Here is how rookies James Houston and Aidan Hutchinson responded to Rodgers’ little troll job.
James Houston
“Aaron Rodgers, he talked a little smack,” linebacker and rookie sensation James Houston said after the Lions dispatched the Bears on Sunday.
“Yeah, yeah, a little smack, you know, but that’s football. But I don’t think he knows how close we’ve become as a team and how we’ve grown with each other these last few weeks, so it’s going to be a really good game.”
Aidan Hutchinson
“Yeah, it’s Aaron Rodgers, he’ll throw in little jabs in his interviews. That’s Aaron, so it’s whatever,” Hutchinson said. “We’re rolling and we’re playing our best ball, so we’re going to get after it.”
Nation, do you think the Lions will get the last laugh in Week 18?
