Tobias Harris: B-
Harris is probably the Pistons most consistent performer, but was benched earlier in the year in favor of Jon Leuer. Still though, Harris is shooting over 90% from the free-throw line and his numbers since coming to the Pistons have remained remarkably consistent. Harris’ grade would be bumped up higher if he wasn’t shooting just 34% from the three-point line.
Jon Leuer: A
Leuer has easily been the Pistons most impressive player. While many fans doubted the signing of Leuer in free agency, it has turned out to be Stan Van’s best move besides trading Tobias Harris. All Leuer’s done is produce since being inserted into the lineup. He’s the perfect complementary piece to what Stan Van Gundy’s offense is.
Marcus Morris: F
Morris has been horrific this season. He seems to never be engaged on either end of the floor, just chucking up threes on offense, and playing lazy and bad defense. You can never place an entire load of blame on just one player, but if you were going to identify the player who has been the biggest letdown for the Pistons so far, it would be Morris.
Stanley Johnson: D+
Stanley “Doghouse” Johnson saw his minutes cut drastically early in the year due to lack of consistency, effort, and performance. It got so bad for the second year man out of Kansas, he was even sent down to the D-league to get his game right, and he has, at least for now. While Johnson’s been awful for most of the year, he’s played better as of late and is up back to around 30 minutes per game the last five games.
Reggie Bullock: D+
Bullock hasn’t been good, averaging just under five points per game in 16 minutes off the bench. Bullock not providing much of a scoring burst would be fine if he was specialized in other areas, but that’s not the case. He’s shooting 20% from three and isn’t a plus rebounder, playmaker, or defender. If the Pistons make a move at or before the deadline, expect Bullock to be involved in the deal.
Henry Ellenson: F
The first-round pick out of Marquette has struggled to get minutes, and struggled even more when he’s gotten those minutes. While it’s way too premature to label Ellenson a bust, he has spent a lot of time in the D-League which makes some Pistons fans uneasy.
