The 33 year old veteran of Thunder Bay, Ontario comes to Detroit having played 892 regular season games with the Rangers.

Let's throw it back to the Rangers' 2012 run to the Eastern Conference Finals. They got there due to clutch scoring, including the Steal's Game 5 overtime winner of their Semi-Finals round against the Washington Capitals:

Staal has 188 points in his regular season career, as well as 20 points in 107 career playoff games.
