The Detroit Tigers have announced that the 3rd baseman has been placed on the 10-Day DL with a lower back strain, ending his year.

Conversely, Christin Stewart has been recalled from the alternate training site in Toledo.

In 52 games played, Candelario hit seven home runs with a .297 batting average and .872 OPS. Meanwhile, Stewart has hit three home runs with nine RBI in 33 games with Detroit.

The Tigers continue their series with the Royals tonight.
