He's included in the running for the Bobby Dodd Trophy, awarded annually to the coach of the year. The award “celebrates the head coach of a team who enjoys success on the gridiron, while also stressing the importance of scholarship, leadership and integrity — the three pillars of coach Bobby Dodd’s coaching philosophy.”
First year coaches weren't included in the list.
Harbaugh's Big Ten counterparts also being considered for the award include Paul Chryst (Wisconsin), Kirk Ferentz (Iowa), P.J. Fleck (Minnesota) and James Franklin (Penn State).
The winner will be announced during the Peach Bowl in Atlanta this January.
